Problem: CDs keep jumping and skipping

There are 0 comments on this problem.

Solution 1: Check for dirt and dust on the CD. CDs aren't that strong, so only clean them with a soft cloth.

Problem: CDs keep jumping an skipping but they aren't dirty and they are in good condition. Also, the CD player often can't start and shows an error message when I put a CD in.

Solution 1: Could be a number of problems but it sounds like a misaligned CD read head. You can fix this yourself (Google "Fix misaligned CD read head") but it will invalidate your warranty, so only do it if it's out of warranty and you are aware of the risks of damaging your CD player by opening it up.

Problem: CDs keep getting scratched after I play them

There are 0 comments on this problem.

Solution 1: Sounds like something is scratching them in the CD bay. If you can see inside, try to see or feel for anything sharp that might be doing this. BE CAREFUL! Don't cut yourself doing this!

Solution 1: Not much to go on here! Try checking that the CD is spinning smoothly and that the central spinning mechanism is spinning straight.

- I've got the same. It seems to only happen with really long records (65+ minutes). Never had that problem with short/regular albums. CD finally plays ok after several attempts. Seems to be firmware (software) related.

Problem: New player-Disc tray not opening more that a few cm.s press open/close again it closes. press open again sometimes sticks, sometimes opens. Also sometimes when open, closes of its own accord. 1st player replaced after few days by retailer. now 2nd player has identical problem. I am taking this one back after trial period of 3 months. Seems like fault in build.
